About 100 guests from the worlds of business, science, and politics celebrated the success story of the innovative high-tech specialist from Lower Bavaria
Deggendorf, July 2026 – With about 100 invited guests, the b-plus Group celebrated its 30th anniversary at its headquarters on the ITC Campus in Deggendorf. Clients, partners, representatives from politics and science, as well as associates, used the event to look back on three decades of successful development and, at the same time, gain insight into the technological challenges and opportunities of the future.
What began in 1996 as an engineering office for measurement technology applications has evolved over the past three decades into an internationally active corporate group with four operating subsidiary companies. Today, b-plus employs more than 250 people and supports customers in the automotive, off-highway, and defense sectors with innovative hardware and software solutions for data-driven and automated systems.
Managing Director Michael Sieg paid special tribute to the people who have accompanied and shaped b-plus’s journey over many years. Long-time employees, customers, partners, and allies have made a decisive contribution to the company’s sustainable growth through their expertise and dedication. A strong network, reliable collaboration, and trust among colleagues remain essential prerequisites for jointly driving new ideas forward and achieving long-term success.
“30 years of b-plus stand for innovative strength, courage, reliability, and the willingness to actively shape technological change with a huge wealth of expertise. Our success is based on authentic entrepreneurship, strong teams, and long-term partnerships,” emphasized Michael Sieg.
b-plus was founded in 1996 by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jörg Böttcher. In his emotional and creative video message, the company’s founder and namesake paid tribute to its remarkable development into a successful technology group and warmly congratulated the management and employees on the company’s 30th anniversary.
High-ranking guests acknowledge innovative spirit and commitment to the region
The importance of b-plus for Lower Bavaria as a hub for business and innovation was also reflected in the remarks made by numerous distinguished guests. Among the guests welcomed by host Simone Heigl were Thomas Erndl, defense policy spokesperson for the CDU/CSU parliamentary group in the Bundestag and MdB; Christian Bernreiter, Bavarian Minister of State for Housing, Construction, and Transportation and MdL; District Administrator Bernd Sibler; Dr. Christian Moser, Mayor of Deggendorf, and Prof. Dr. Veronika Fetzer, Vice President of Third Mission at THD and Managing Director of ITC1.
In their speeches, they particularly highlighted b-plus’s role as a driver of innovation and technology, as well as a regional employer. At the same time, they recognized the close collaboration with academia and research, industry, and regional institutions, which has contributed to the company’s growth over many years.
Hands-On Technology
In addition to the official ceremony, the anniversary celebration offered numerous opportunities to experience the group’s technological expertise firsthand.
In the agricultural and municipal technology sector, practical applications were on display in the outdoor area, including an impressive firefighting vehicle and an industrial trailer-mounted binder spreader. The exhibition demonstrated how b-plus supports customers in automating custom and agricultural machinery—from software development through the design and integration of electronic control systems to displays, operator modules, and keypad solutions.
The comprehensive, guided exhibition—moderated by experts at each exhibit—highlighted how modern automation technologies help increase efficiency, safety, and ease of use across a wide range of applications.
In the core automotive sector, b-plus demonstrated current developments in automated and future autonomous driving, vehicle network connectivity, and data-driven development processes for the mobility of tomorrow. For the environmental recognition and sensor validation required for this purpose, three test and development vehicles with different configurations were available for demonstration, in addition to recording and hardware-in-the-loop stations. They clearly showcased how b-plus captures very large volumes of high-quality sensor data, synchronizes it with precise timing, and evaluates it efficiently. Automated annotation, data quality, and intelligent fleet management save valuable development time and create a reliable foundation for automated driving functions.
In its new Defense business unit, b-plus presented solutions for the digitalization of land-based operations. The focus was on hardened communication and IT infrastructures as well as resilient electronics directly within the vehicle. Their high resistance to vibrations, dust, moisture, and extreme temperatures is a key commonality with applications in mobile machinery and test vehicles. In this way, b-plus is transferring its proven expertise in networking, data processing, and automation to a segment in which unmanned vehicles and digitally networked systems are becoming increasingly important.
Three Markets, One Technological Foundation
The examples presented clearly demonstrated how closely b-plus’s core competencies are interconnected across different industries and applications. All solutions are based on the capturing, processing, transmission, and intelligent use of large volumes of data, as well as the quality and security of that data.
With expertise in embedded software, data management, edge computing, communication systems, artificial intelligence, and automation, the b-plus Group develops technologies that drive digitalization across a wide range of application areas.

The anniversary event provided the perfect setting for inspiring conversations, valuable networking opportunities, and the chance to connect with long-time partners of b-plus Group.

The test and development vehicles offered exciting insights into current technologies and b-plus’s work on the automated driving features of the future. The demonstration of Automated Annotation, in particular, generated a great deal of interest.
During a demonstration using the MAX technology carrier, the time-synchronized recording of sensor and driving data was explained. The CONiX Testfleet showed how drivers can manually record specific scenes and how test fleet managers can monitor these recordings live from the office.
Focus on Real-World Applications: In the outdoor area, an impressive firefighting vehicle, an industrial trailer-mounted binder spreader and a hydrostatic single-axle vehicle demonstrated how electronic control systems, operator modules and keypad solutions make work processes safer and more efficient.
