b-plus hands over donations in kind to TfK-Technikhaus in Deggendorf

Discarded devices inspire young talents and provide new equipment for their model constructions

We felt like both Santa Claus and St. Nicholas combined, when we recently visited the TfK-Technikhaus in Deggendorf. Equipped with a variety of our technical devices, we surprised the young talents there.

However, the focus of their excited eyes was not on the messengers, Simone Adam and Carina Franke, but rather on the discarded devices like batteries, circuit boards, computers, laptops, water cooling systems, and all sorts of technical accessories. These were immediately scrutinized and inspected closely, as they could be used for their model-building projects.

"We are proud to be able to equip the Technikhaus, such an exciting place for young people, with our components," says Carina Franke, who, in product marketing, highlights all the features and special aspects of measurement technology solutions for professionals.

"We are very grateful for material donations," says Werner Helmbrecht, the project manager at TfK. "They allow the children to bring their creative ideas to life and expand their technical skills."

Since 2014, the Technikhaus in Deggendorf has been providing a platform for children and teenagers aged 8 to 17 to explore the world of technology - "Inspiring through Doing." With over 400 square meters of space, it offers 24 workstations and open areas for soapbox car construction, model building, programming, and tinkering. Volunteer mentors, who come from professional backgrounds such as electronics or engineering, assist the young builders every day.

We wish them a lot of joy in their tinkering and look forward to our next visit.
